Bunnie Xo is sharing video footage of some of the big moments in her and Jelly Roll‘s relationship — including the sweet proposal that led to an impromptu Las Vegas wedding.
In honor of the couple’s eighth wedding anniversary on Saturday (Aug. 31), Bunnie took social media fans for a “little stroll down memory lane.” One of the videos she shared shows Jelly’s proposal, which took place onstage at a Deftones concert in Las Vegas in 2016.
“[What I wanna know is if] your fine a– will marry my white trash a– tonight in Las Vegas,” Jelly can be heard saying during the proposal, amid cheers from the crowd.
The video cuts out before Bunnie can give her official response, but it’s clear that she said yes. The video then cuts to them tying the knot in an impromptu, late-night ceremony with just a few friends there to document the occasion.
The couple’s proposal and wedding is just one of the “firsts” documented in Bunnie’s video. She also shared a clip of Jelly she filmed backstage the very first night she met him, during one of his concerts in 2015.
“Why I’m recording him, I have no f–king idea,” Bunnie says in a voiceover as she shares the throwback clip. “But I don’t know. It was just so f–king weird. I was so drawn to him.”
Shortly thereafter, Bunnie got out of a relationship with somebody else, and she and Jelly started to keep in touch with frequent phone calls. Still, they were just friends, she says, even when she flew out to see him play a show with hip hop group Cypress Hill in April 2016.
In July 2016, their relationship turned romantic when Jelly came out to Vegas to film some music videos and visit her. In her video, Bunnie also documents their steamy first kiss from that trip — which turned out to be just about a month before they got engaged and married.
Jelly and Bunnie recently traded loving social media posts to celebrate eight years of marriage. In his anniversary tribute, Jelly specifically highlighted Bunnie’s solo success as a podcaster, and shared how much he admires his wife for using her platform to support other women.
