Morgan Wallen is working behind the scenes to help those impacted by the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene.
In an Instagram Stories slide, the singer shared his concern for people who have been hit hard by the storms, especially those in his home region of East Tennessee. Wallen said that everyone from his circle who lives in the area is okay, but not all East Tennesseans are as lucky.
“My family in East Tennessee are safe, but I know many are absolutely devastated there and in multiple states,” Wallen wrote in a statement on Sunday (Sept. 29). “All my prayers are geared toward those tonight.”
He also says he’s hoping to send more than just his prayers to aid in the relief efforts.
“Those hills and hollers are very important to me in so many ways,” Wallen continues. “It is going to take a monumental effort and I am in contact with my team and others working on ways I can help.”
According to CNN, Hurricane Helene made landfall last Thursday (Sept. 26) when it impacted Florida’s Big Bend region, becoming the strongest hurricane on record ever to do so.
The storms ripped through East Tennessee beginning on Friday (Sept. 27), and according to Knox News, the region has been hit by extreme flooding, road blockages and downed power lines. Four deaths have been reported in the state.

Wallen is not the first country artist to take action in support of storm victims. Over the weekend, Luke Combs also announced that he’s working on a plan to help those affected by the devastation, with a concentrated effort in his home state of North Carolina. Eric Church and Luke Bryan have also sent messages of support to the storm victims.
Of course, Wallen’s love for his home state is well-documented in songs like “More Than My Hometown,” “Tennessee Fan” and “865.”
He recently played back-to-back sold-out hometown shows at Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium as part of his 2024 One Night at a Time Tour.
