Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife, Firerose, amid their divorce.
People reports that Cyrus filed an emergency motion in a Tennessee court on Thursday (June 13), asking for a temporary restraining order to prevent Firerose from any unauthorized use of his credit cards or financial accounts.
The 62-year-old musician’s filing alleges that his 37-year-old estranged spouse has spent more than $96,000 across 37 different charges on one of his business accounts in recent weeks, including more than $70,000 that he claims went to her attorneys.
Cyrus’ filing calls those charges “fraudulent,” and he says he’s concerned that she will make further “fraudulent, unauthorized charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts.”
In a legal response, Firerose claims she has had access to Cyrus’ American Express card since June of 2022, and that the charges she has made in recent days do not constitute an emergency that needs relief from the court.
“To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorized charges is untrue,” her lawyers state in court documents People obtained. “Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off.”
According to court documents, Cyrus and Firerose — an Australian singer-songwriter whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges — agreed after his divorce filing that she would vacate his home immediately in exchange for him providing financial support for 90 days or until their marriage comes to a legal end.
Cyrus’ most recent filing alleges that Firerose owns real estate that is worth more than seven figures in Los Angeles and has more than half a million dollars in liquid assets and investments of her own. He further claims that they never had any joint accounts together and that she was never authorized to access any of his separate accounts.
Cyrus is asking his estranged wife to refund or return anything she purchased using his accounts.

Miley Cyrus has sold her luxurious farmhouse estate outside of Nashville, and she made a whopping profit compared to what she paid just five years ago. Cyrus sold her 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom, 6,689-square-foot luxury farmhouse for $14.5 million in an off-the-books deal, marking one of the most expensive homes sales in the Nashville area in 2022. That price represents more than double, but less than three times what Cyrus paid when she purchased the rural estate for $5.8 million in 2017.
